Welcome Back Kotter!

After a lengthy move and no cable service I am finally back, and boy have things changed (in my RL). Without going into too many details, I now can play longer. Since I last posted there have been some updates.

I finally got myself that damn Selene's Bow. Went with a THF and sure enough we got drop onthe very first kill. I will never understand this drop system in this game, but nobody ever cares after they get their drop, so I will join that list... WHO CARES!? I GOT MY SELENE'S BOW!


I also have been working on Alchemy. I got my Woodworking to 60 and I'm just wondering if I want that to be my main craft. Alchemy was at 54 and I've since gotten it to 55.6 and I'm just wondering how high I need to get it to consistantly HQ sneak oils (since that has been my moneymaker thus far).

Nothing else really has happened, I've made no progress on my damn CoP missions. Without a static I don't know how long this will take. I had a static for ZM, CoP (before) and even ToAU. Right now I'm relying on pick up parties and shouts since the LS has far surpassed Diabolos and I too would shy away from having to find lvl capped gear to help other people who are behind. Who knows what the future holds for the 'bum.

Went after my Selene's bow yesterday. I know the OBow is a good xbow to have but I should diversify and have at least an EBow, Vali's, or Selene's bow. Of those, Vali's is a lottery spawn NM and EBow is BCNM60 drop. The easiest of them is the Selene's which is dropped from a rabbit that is force spawned every full and new moon. You trade a Sandy Carrot to a ??? and it spawns. Droprate is said to be about 10%... we went 0/3.

Captivating

So I finally got home from vacation and decided to attend my first LS event. It was an easy night of sky. Luckily, I have years of experience in sky but the only trouble is... I was always a RDM or BLM. This was my first time in sky as a melee. It wasn't that bad... I deleved (which sucks) but all in all I thought I did a pretty good job.

I headed out to Li'Telor and realized that without a raised chocobo yet I was going to have to run it from Zi'tah... I miss that old chicken I used to have... I made it up to sky and our 1st target was Mother Globe. Someone knew it was up so we headed up there and just before I was on MG's floor I used widescan and found out Faust was up! We never really got around to Faust but at least I was able to contribute SOMETHING to the LS already! We got to MG and it was a cake walk. I was used to going as a mage where you just nuke the hell outta that NM, but this was a different approach. Get TP off MG and then use it on a Slave Globe. Got full drops too! The Katana was just meh, but I wasn't going to lot it, it was lv.73 and I'm only NIN60. And I just joined the shell like 8 seconds ago.

After that I had about 2'ish hours left before work so we headed to Kirin. I was 1/1 avoiding the damn pots which was a nice relief from those times I went 1/15. Unfortunetly... we had someone else go 1/15 so it took almost 45 minutes to go from MG to poping Kirin. Why they don't make that a non-random telepad is beyond me. When we finally popped Kirin it seemed like our most important people kept DC'ing. It's Murphey's Law really, I mean if you have 15 jobs not being used to kite Kirin and 3 PLD's... It's always going to be the PLD's who DC! Never fails! I got to say in 4 years of playing this darn game I have never DC'd once. Either on PS2 or now on PC. We managed though, and sure enough I was supposed to Shadowbind old Seiryu.

He was the pet popped by Kirin and all was going fine, He 2-hours and I use my macro.

Sure enough, someone broke it. Chaoslegacy (it seems the LS RNG) had to use his to SB him and we cleared him no problem. Next was Genbu (poor tutrle), he went down no problem. When Suzaku came up we both had our Shadowbinds back up. Sure enough... someone broke Chaos' SB! Being the good team player I am, I run up and use the macro. It sticks, and everyone runs away and as I'm backing away in first person I realize that I am still engaged with Suzy... so I'm backing up very very slowly. As I fumble to disengage from him I'm getting slammed with Flare repeatedly, and eventually I get cooked beyond belief and finally bite it.



Crap. I get a R3 and my 2k buffer is now 1300. We go on with Kirin and I'm hitting a steady 40 per Holy Bolt and a 252 per Slug Shot. I have nothing to compare it to, so it could be crap, could be average, idk. All I know is each Sidewinder Chaos did was 500-700 a shot. Granted I don't have Osode, Ebow, and about 1/2 the gear he does. Eventually after a Diaond Dust I live with about 134 HP. I get healed up once Cure IV and I somehow get slammed by a random Great Whirlwind.



Now I'm getting it from my LSmates. buffer xp {where?} Granted I just dinged 75 that morning and had 2k xp buffer from two lvl.8 Beseige runs. I see R3 being started on me and as I accept the raise I realize I am now a RNG74. I was thinking "WTF, R3 shoulda got me back my level". Seems someone decided to R1 me as R3 was being cast and since it has a shorter spellcast time it was cast on me first, and the R3 had no effect once it was cast. Not knowing this I chose to be revived, thus recieving a R1 after deleveling and not getting back my RNG75 level. It sucked but oh well, I'm like 900tnl so that's 1 more beseiged or maybe I'll get off my ass and finally start XP'ing on RNG. Soonafter we got the kill, good drops in my opinion.

That was it for the night, I logged off and headed out to work. Did prisoner transport, so I pretty much slept from midnight till 4am and then had to start working. Love this crazy job. Got home today at 9am, went to sleep. Woke up at 1:00 to get some leveling done on RNG.
